RESUMO
The culture of cucumber is among the ten biggest commercial interest vegetables in Brazil, this japanese cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) culture in greenhouse has been introduced by producers from the green belt region of SÃo Paulo city. The culture in greenhouse is a modern technology which assists in reducing the effect of the seasonality on the production, in addition to provide several cycles of production during the year. Irrigation is essential for this system of culture, thus, through this information, two studies with irrigation of the japanese cucumber culture have been developed. The first one consisted of a completely randomized design (CRD), involving four soil water tensions (15 kPa, 30 kPa, 60 kPa and 120 kPa) as treatments and 5 repetitions, in two phases of the culture (vegetative and reproductive), having as objective to determine the most adequate moment to initiate the irrigation and to assess the effect of different soil water tensions for the different phenological stages; the second study with a completely randomized design as well, involving five levels of water replacement in soil (50%, 75%, 100%, 125% and 150%) with 6 repetitions, objectified to evaluate the effect of the application of different irrigation blades on the culture production, joined to a economic analysis of the process. In accordance with the gotten results, it was possible to conclude that: the production of the culture presented an inversely proportional behavior to the soil water tension, observing lesser value for the tension of 120 kPa, finding the reproductive phase the most sensitive to the variation of the tension; the best efficiency of water use was gotten for the tension of 15 kPa applied during the vegetative phase and 60 kPa applied on the reproductive phase. The highest physical productivity was gotten through the application of a water depth of 320 mm and, the application of a water depth of 319.5 mm provided greatest economic yield.
