Investigar em educação histórica em Portugal: opções metodológicas

RESUMO
RESUMO A pesquisa em educação histórica visa compreender o pensamento histórico dos sujeitos a nível substantivo e meta-histórico, sobretudo no que concerne aos agentes da aprendizagem no contexto da educação formal. No plano metodológico, quer os estudos sistemáticos quer os de investigação-ação têm privilegiado abordagens de natureza essencialmente qualitativa, acompanhadas de análise quantitativa de dados. Neste artigo discutem-se processos e resultados de alguns desses estudos em Portugal, à luz das opções metodológicas e de conceitos inerentes à História.ABSTRACT Research in history education aims to understand the subjects’ historical thinking at meta-historical and substantive levels. Its main focus is the ideas of the agents involved in learning within formal education contexts. In a methodological perspective, both systematic and action-research studies in that field have mainly followed essentially qualitative approaches with an additional quantitative data analysis. The article discusses procedures and results of some studies carried out in Portugal in the light of methodological options and concepts entangled in the nature of history.
