RESUMO

The aims of this work are the study, design and implementation of a dc/ac converter for the connection of a wind power generator to the electric grid. It makes use of a single-phase inverter, with three-level PWM modulation, connected to the grid through a low frequency transformer. Three distinct variables are controlled in the converter: the output current, that must be sinusoidal and present low harmonic distortion, the DC link voltage, that must be regulated and within the designed ripple, and the average current component in the primary winding of the transformer, what prevents it from saturating. Initially, a brief introduction on the use of the wind power is performed. Afterwards, studies of the power structure, control models and employed compensators. Finally, a prototype is assembled and tested to validate through experimental results all developed theoretical analysis and design.
