RESUMO

This thesis provides an historical about the Internet in the last 20 years, covering presently offered resources such as E-Mail, Chat and FTP, information, statistics of implementation, use and investments in Brazil. Besides that, presents the protocol operation, the changing of information, the addressing, languages and libraries used by servers and providers. Shows an open market overview due to the implementation of this new technology, creation of courses driven to training and Young people job orientation, new methods of learning such as on line trainings and distance learning, and last, the problems caused by Internet use.
