RESUMO

This work aims to design integrated optical networking, which in the literature, due to complexity, is divided into Virtual Topology Design (VTD) and Physical Topology Design (PTD). Linear programming and heuristics are proposed to maximize the utilization of the network, so that for future demands, the same network may remain able to meet the requests, without reconfiguration of optical paths previously established. The integration will occur by the fact that the studies be initiated in view of the virtual topology and the results are applied to the physical topology, which stems from the fact that the virtual paths generated by VTD are considered in applications of PTD, also known as Routing and Wavelength Assignment (RWA). The studies are performed for optical networks under static traffic demands and criteria for protection are considered both in VTD and PTD. Computer simulations show that balancing the criteria of VTD are important for network planners attend to current traffic and future and also address criteria for protection
