Inovação em uma indústria petroquímica brasileira: o caso do projeto dos copos descartáveis em polipropileno

RESUMO

This work analyzes the barriers to innovate in the project of the development of polypropylene disposable cups between 2004 and 2007 in a brazilian petrochemical company. Moreover, this work explores the development of the project in the light of innovation models and identifies the characteristics of the barriers faced by the project with the concepts and models of authors who study innovation. It was found three barriers to innovate and they are: The lack of alignment of technology strategy with business strategy of the company, overcame by convincing senior management that the development of plastic chain through the downstream of the company would offer new competitive advantages and associate the brand Braskem SA to innovation, increasing customer loyalty; lack of resources and expertise to build a national thermoforming equipment for the production of polypropylene cups economically viable, overcame with the creation of the NTS-Máquinas e Equipamentos, aggregating all resources and expertise to the construction of the new machine; and the difficulty of managing all business and people on this project, overcame with the organization of the NTS-Máquinas e Equipamentos with a concept of an automotive manufacturer, making it simple and fast company to assemble the equipment with support of the suppliers to develop technical solutions required for the equipment.
