RESUMO

This work has as objective analyzes the consumer s of the chicken meat profile and to verify if there is imperfect information in the market of Campo Grande-MS. Specifically it is intended: a) to characterize the consumer s of chicken meat demographic profile, taking in consideration subjects as age, sex, education degree; b) to verify the existence of lack of the consumers of chicken meat information, evaluating which these consumers perception regarding the variables health and price of the fresh meat of chicken. For this, a quantitative-descriptive exploratory research was accomplished a sample of 405 people close to, in the period of September 29 on October 5, 2005. The results reveal that the woman continues being the largest responsible for the purchase of the foods, same those that exercise paid activities. The predominant age group is above 40 years. Little of them got to study superior level, tend most the fundamental and medium teaching. Regarding the chicken meat, the research shows that the consumers consider the chicken meat a healthy meat, but when questioned regarding the cholesterol tenor and present chemical residues, the opinions vary, contradicting the health of the chicken meat affirmed by the consumers. That is due to existent existence of imperfect information in that market.
