RESUMO

n this work the influence of Fe, Zn and Sn on Ru/Ti02 and Ru/Si02 was investigated. The catalytic performance of RuFe/Ti02, RuZnlTi02, RuSnlTi02 and RuFe/Si02 was evaluated on the benzene partial hydrogenation (373 K and 5 :Mpa). The catalysts were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation from an aqueous solution of the chloride precursors. A constant Ru/additive atomic ratio was kept in alI systems. The powders were calcined and reduced (573 K) before the catalytic testes. Some techniques were used to characterize the catalysts, namely N2 adsorption, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray difftaction, temperature-programmed reduction and oxygen chemisorption. The catalysts performances revealed that the addition of Fe and Zn improved the Ru/Ti02 selectivity towards the desired product ciclohexene. Such a behaviour showed to be dependent of the additive loading, particularly for Zn. On the other hand, the addition of tin to the same system (Ru/Ti02) exhibited a negative effect since the catalyst showed to be practicalIy inactive in the reaction
