RESUMO

The main objective of this work is to study the Ti influence over the properties of Ru catalysts, used in partial hydrogenation of benzene to cyclohexene. Thus, TI O IND. 2 and AL IND. 2? O IND. 3 supported Ru catalysts were prepared by incipient support impregnation with aqueous solution of Ru CL IND.3 RU / AL IND. 2"O IND. 3 catalytic system was prepated in various Ti contents, whilst RU / TI O IND. 2 system was activated in different reduction temperatures under H IND. 2 atmosphere. Prepared catalysts were characterized through several chemical and physic techniques, thus evaluating their performance in the reaction of interest. Reaction was carried out under 5,0 MPa H IND. 2 pressure and at temperature of 100 DEGREES C, in an agitated reactor using metylcyclohexane as solvent. The experimental results show that the Ti addition into the RU / AL IND. 2 O IND. 3 system increases catalytic activity and the maximum cyclohexene yield, specially for low additive contents. For the RU TI O IND. 2 systems, the activation temperature of 300 DEGREES C led to the best catalytic performance (higher cyclohexene yields), when compared to 150 DEGREES C, 250 DEGREES C, 400 DEGREES C AND 500 DEGREES C activated catalysts in the series, and when compared to the RU / AL IND. 2 O IND. 3 systems, activated at 300 DEGREES C...
