RESUMO

The Bacillus subtilis bacterium is considered a potential candidate for large scale poly γ-glutamic acid production. This biopolymer is interesting because it has a potential variety of applications. The present study assessed, using statistical methodology, the effects of the carbohydrates source and acid glutamic concentration and fermentation time in the production of acid poli γ-glutamic acid by Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633. The experiments were carried out using a factorial design 23 and to optimize of production γ-PGA was applied a central composite rotational design. The results showed that sucrose concentration; acid glutamic present in fermentation and cultivation time were significant for biosynthesis the γ-PGA. The highest γ-PGA contents obtained was 20.4 g/L with productivity rate of 0.1962 g/L at 132 g/L of sucrose and 27.6 g/L acid glutamic in 104 h cultivation.
