RESUMO

The purpose of this paper is to review information about the non-complicated supra- ST myocardial infarct, based on medical evidence and on the last published guidelines. It will be reported theory, epidemiological aspects, strategies of cardiovascular risk stratification of adverse events available (which are non-invasive and invasive), accompanying exams and early hospital discharge. The non-invasive strategy uses supporting examinations, such as: echocardiogram, exercise test, stress echo test, myocardial scintigraphy and nuclear magnetic resonance, for searching the risk factors for adverse cardiovascular events, such as: ventricular dysfunction, residual ischemia and severe ventricular arrhythmias. Direct cine coronary angiography is performed afterwards. On the invasive approach direct cine coronary angiography is used. It was discussed the following items regarding the non-invasive stratification: research of ventricular dysfunction done using echocardiogram, and with some exceptions with other examinations, such as: nuclear ventriculography, radiologic contrast ventriculography, or nuclear magnetic resonance. In the research of residual ischemia the following methods were analyzed: exercise test, myocardial nuclear medicine, stress echo and nuclear magnetic resonance. Finally, early hospital discharge was discussed
