RESUMO

The incorporation of Ellipticine, an anticancer drug, in lipid model membranes is studied by low angle X-ray diffraction technique. Using diffraction patterns we have studied the structural changes of the lipid bilayers induced by Ellipticine, as well as the crystallization mechanism of the compound in the multilayer system. Using different model membrane systems (DPPC, CL, EPC). with different Lipids: Drug concentrations, we show that the permeability and net charge of the phospholipids. As well as the pH of the aqueous phase, contributed to drug incorporation. The Ellipticine located in the hydrophobic region of the bilayer induces changes in its thickness. The formation of Ellipticine crystals is observed only in the aqueous phase and is pH- and concentration-dependent
