RESUMO

A petroleum reservo ir was characterized through integration of geologic information obtained from the well and 3D seismic data. The integration was accomplished by using geoestatistical tools (kriging with extemal drift, collocated cokriging and stochastic simulation). The reservoir is composed by an altemance of turbiditic sandstone and non-reservoir facies. The main heterogeneity are cemented layers inside of the sandstone. A linear relation was found between accumulated non-reservoir facies thickness (he) situated below the seismic resolution limit and average trough amplitude observed in field data and validated by modeling, was used to obtain maps of he using this seismic attribute as secondary variable in the geoestatistical algorithms. The mapping of the he and the computation of non-reservoir volume were made using the average trough amplitude of different interpretations of the seismic data and three differently processed data from the same 3D-survey. The images and computed volumes were compared with the goal of analyzing how the seismic data processing and interpretation affect this aspect of reservo ir characterization. The bigger differences in the hc maps of the hc occurred with the images derived from the different processings. They showed differences of over 20% in about half of the area. The computed volumes showed differences ofup to 15,9%. Reservoir facies thickness (h,.) and quality maps, defined as the ratio between h,. e hc, were obtained from the non-reservoir facies accumulated thickness map generated from the last seismic processing
