RESUMO

The immunohistochemistry is a technique of great help in diagnosing diseases of the breast, including tumors. Equally important, the analysis of digital images is being increasingly used in studies of changes in the breast. This study aimed to quantify the expression of the antibody morfometricamente through immunoperoxidase as in normal breast tissue, and infiltrating ductal carcinoma and compare them with histochemistry with lectins Concanavalin A (Con A) and Peanut agglutinin (PNA), all combined with peroxidase. Fragments submitted to routine histological and embedded in paraffin. The tissue samples were incubated with selected monoclonal antibody anti-vimentin by one hour at room temperature (37 Â C) and then incubated with a secondary antibody. The revelation was made after incubation with diaminobenzidine (DAB) and hydrogen peroxide. Tissues will be desparafinizados in xylol and hydrated in alcohol (70% -100%). The different profiles of expression of vimentin offer a great support for the quantitative research of malignant cells in breast
