RESUMO

Presently, on the Geotechnic Engineering art, the superficial and deep foundation projects are conditioned for the load capacity and for the admissibles settlements. The foundation projects and geotechnic sites in Santa Maria/RS have a preponderant empirical character. The soil knowledge are based, almost exclusively, on their behavior on previous sites and on SPTs routinely tests. Aiming a more efficient forecast of the foundations behavior that are currently used on this region, it arises the necessity to implement a experimental camp. It is presented on this work the implementation of the Geotechnic Engineering Experimental Field of Federal University of Santa Maria (CEEG/UFSM), which is located at this universitys campus. The implementation was done in three stages. The first one was the subsoils preliminary investigations phase, after the detailed investigations and then the foundation project, execution and verification of the behavior. On the preliminary investigations stage, was done three standard penetration tests up to the impenetrable to percussion, a manual hand turned augering, excavation of six sample trenches and a topographic surveying. The preliminary investigations had included the characterization tests (granulometric analysis, real specific weight and the liquidity and plasticity grains limits), mineralogical tests (X-ray difraction) and chemist tests. The geothecnic parameters was determined by direct shear tests (resistance) and confined compression tests (deformation). On the last stage, was executed three small diameter bored piles and was done a static load test with slow loading. The results obtained on all stages of the CEEG/UFSM implementation are presented on this work.
