RESUMO

The Chandra X-ray telescope has carried out a survey in the Galactic Center region resulting in a catalog of 2357 point sources in a 17 × 17 field-of-view. The positional uncertainty of the sources is <= 4 arcsec. This allowed us to identify counterparts in other wavelengths. In the optical region, due to the large extinction by the interstellar medium (tens of magnitudes in the V band), the number of counterparts is small. In the infrared, however, the extinction is relatively small. In this work we use CamIV data obtained at OPD/LNA, as well as 2MASS information to identify infrared counterparts to the Chandra X-ray sources. Moreover, using CamIV images obtained at dierent epochs, we investigate the variability in the H band flux for the most likely identifications. We also analyse the resultant catalogue of identifications to select targets for follow-up studies with the SOAR and GEMINI telescopes.
