RESUMO
The purpose of this study is to revisit the production of three urban memorialists from Campinas (Jolumá Brito, Júlio Mariano e José de Castro Mendes), with special emphasis on their readings of the city where they lived (1920-1970), a moment that coincides with large urban transformations. These are readings that blend the authors own lives with the city s history, composing accounts guided by an extreme regional loyalty. In order to understand how these readings helped form and spread a determined view on different pasts of the city, here are discussed their autobiographical and biographical constructions and their trajectories, especially as local journalists/historians.
