RESUMO

The internship experience obtained at the ICUs of a general university hospital was significant, to the point that it became necessary to elaborate the experience by writing. In this dissertation, my objective was to demonstrate my intervention in four analytical situations, in which specific patients were constructed in a way uncommon to the standard psychoanalytic clinic, exemplifying how the therapeutic function of the psychoanalytic method occurred in each of these analytical situations. The method of investigation used is the psychoanalytic method, which in turn has very much been investigated by the Multiple Fields Theory. The patients alluded to are those which I denominated: the ICU-patient, the ICU patients, a triple patient in an ICU, and a group of nurses the GIFT. In this sense, the four are subjects of the investigation. The result it is hoped is a dissertation or a photograph, in the sense given by the philosopher Vilém Flusser about some of the extensions of the psychoanalytic clinic, of the psychoanalytical way of listening and of clinical interpretation. The dissertation demonstrates how the therapeutic function of psychoanalysis was practiced in ICUs via an extended clinic, as well as why it was important to characterize the ICU-patient, in order to converse with ICU patients and with the group of nurses. This investigation is therefore related to the psychoanalysis of everyday life, as described by the Multiple Fields Theory, with the peculiarity of pertaining to an everyday life in ICUs in the case-analysis of the ICU-patient ; it is also related to the Multiple Fields Theory conception of the extended psychoanalytic clinic, which privileges the act that modifies something, that understands, that cures it in the case-analyses of ICU patients and of the GIFT
