Formulação P do metodo de elementos finitos em problemas de elasticidade linear e não-linear com malhas 3D e em metodos multigrid algebricos

RESUMO

The main purpose of this work is to develop and implement (in C++ language) the p-version of the Finite Element Method (FEM) applied to linear and non-linear structural elastic problems with 3D non-structured meshes. To achieve this goal, we conduct a previous study which compares some sets of triangular and tetrahedral hierarchical basis functions available in the literature. As a consequence of this study, we adopt the formulation suggested by (Karniadakis e Sherwin, 1999) to construct some applications related to linear and non-linear structural elastic problems. This development is subsequently used as the starting point to the study and implementation of the algebraic multigrid techniques based on the p-version. This kind of technique is applied to 2D and 3D elliptic linear problems. To validate the proposed algebraic multigrid schemes from a computational point of view we also consider the implementation of preconditioning algorithms for the p-version of the FEM as well as adaptive muIti-hp strategies applied to 2D problems
