RESUMO

This essay has an objective, which is a showing concerning to Fula language from Guinea-Bissau. Firstly there is a description about its geographic space, its population and its linguistic family. Next it deals with the central focus of this essay: the phonologic segmental analysis of this language. There is an analysis about its vowel and consonant sounds, and the identification of its syllabic standards. The methodology adopted for this research was a field work with a native fula speaker, which pronounced the requested words to being recorded for posterior analysis. Then a bibliographic analysis was done, mainly with COUTO (1994, 1995 E 1996), SILVA (1999) and WEISS (1988), to identifying and explain the phonological factors of this language. The researched language shows seven oral vowels /a,e,,i,o,,u/ and five nasal vowels /ã,ẽ,ĩ,õ,ũ/. The consonants are 19 /p,b,t,d,k,g,ʧ,ʤ,f,s,z,ʃ,,h,,m,n,,l/ and there is a semivowels couple, /w/ e /j/. The silabic standarts are five: CV, CVC, VV, V e VC, organized by occurrence.
