RESUMO

The trial aim was studding fodder salt (FS) use (mix of mineral salt + dicotyledon fodder) over sheep?s performance in feedlot. Daily weight gain (DWG) and total weight gain (TWG), feed conversion of dry matter (FC), fodder salt intake (FSI), mineral salt intake (MSI), dry matter intake (DMI) and crude protein intake (CPI) were evaluated. The experiment had carried out in Olindina ? Ba, and completely randomized experimental design was used, with 6 replications and 4 treatments (T), described to proceed, where the animals were fed with pangola (Digitaria decumbens, Stent.) hay, ad libitum. The treatments were: T1 (proof) mineral salt only (MS); T2 ? fodder salt from cassava branches (Manihot esculenta, Crantz); T3 ? fodder salt from gliricídia (Gliricidia sepium (Jacq.) Walp) and T4 ? fodder salt from leucena (Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) Wit). The animals were kept in individual stall for 77 days. Data were analysed by SISVAR. Treatments using fodder salt provided DWG end TWG higher than the proof. The animals that were fed with FS from leucena, had DWG of 109.52g and TWG of 6,90kg, higher values than FS of cassava and gliricídia. The results showed no significant difference for the feed conversion (FC), among the treatments based on diets with FS. For the intake of fodder salt the treatments with branches from cassava and of leucena, did not differ each other, moreover they had higher intake regarding on treatment with G. sepium, showing more acceptance of fodder salts from cassava and leucena. About DMI, the treatments based on fodder salts of cassava and leucena, had higher intake, did not differ among then, but overcame the proof.
