RESUMO
The study is about the project of philosophy teaching for children, also known as Teach for thinking. It relates its fundamentals, its creation __ by Matthew Lipman __ and its introduction in Brazil. In Distrito Federal the program of philosophy for children comes through the UnB, responsible for propagation and preparation of teachers for the program. Through the study case, it has been investigated the implementation of the program in a public school of Distrito Federal, in a forth grade class of Elementary school. The information about execution of the program were obtained through the semi-structured interviews accomplished with the schools principal, with the pedagogical coordinator and a selected class teacher. In addition it has been done observations during the workshops in which the philosophy was focused the information thus obtained allowed to notice changes in the pedagogical role of the teachers concerned in the importance of a participating teaching, besides the behavior transformation of the students regarding the reflection, the argument and the grounded criticism and respect for the opinion of other. In light of the positives aspects coming from the program introduce, it is recommended its extension to other schools and grades of the Elementary school. Word-
