In the second, focuses on the analysis of his novel A Selva, noting how the foreigner author and immigrant can testify about a Brazilian social reality little known at that time, similarly, discuss about aesthetic elaboration of the Amazon and the possibility of reading the narrative as an exemplary story. The third chapter, initially, is characterized by a brief analysis of the Ferreira de Castro¿s return to Portugal and his critical stance against the fascist regime that ruled the country.
