RESUMO

The creation of collaborative value streams has been considered as an altemative which companies could use to avoid being defeated by competitors. Collaboration s experts claim that a collaborative behavior with business partners based in information sharing brings many benefits, such as: lower inventories, better customer service, lower costs, and others. This empiric research tests a group of hypothesis at the context of company s case, with three main objectives: map basic information used in supply chain management, identify the flow and impact of these informations at the company ana1yzed and propose and test the presentation diagrams of the results. This dissertation s main focus is the following question: do the proposed diagrams to analyze the sharing and impact of most important information for SCM on organization s business processes fulf"dI their job? Inside the extent of the case, the results observed show that just some would be considered basic information to be shared: sales forecast, performance indicators, sales at point of sale (POS), receipts schedule, planned events and kanban. Also, it was observed that the company analyzed has not identified which relevant information to SCM has and runs its operations at an information deficit scenario, where information is not available in quantity and/or quality as necessary. Thus, it was observed that the diagrams proposed to help analysis is useful to study of collaboration and information sharing because show clearly differences between availability and impact, as well show possible information asymmetry among different organization s areas
