RESUMO

The present study is divided into two main parts, one part is devoted to analytical, investigation of the problem of heat transfer with phase change, while the other is devoted to experimental verification of the first. In the theoretical treatment three different methods of the investigation of the problem of solidification and fusion outside cylinderical geometries were treated and analysed. The three methods were compared and discussed. In order to verify the theoretical results two experimental models were designed, constructed and set up. One system is single tube type, while the other is multitube type. With paraffin used as .the phase change material, various experiments were done to obtain temperature profiles and heat transfer, rates. The experimental results obtained were compared, discussed and analysed with the theoretical findings
