RESUMO

Water erosion for if dealing with to a so vast and complex subject and as many implications need to be monitored, to be analyzed and to be understood in some scales. The inquiry campaigns must be based mainly on the involved mechanisms in the process. It is necessary to have relative information of the way, in what it says respect to the possibility of different uses (soil conservation and soil use and occupation). These information can be gotten from surveys on the mechanics of the water erosion, subjects that Civil and Ambient Engineering is each time if improving. This Thesis approaches the geologic-geotechnical study carried in two gullies of great ratios, located in the park of ambient preservation Armando de Holanda Cavalcanti in the city of the Cabo de Santo Agostinho. The development of the subject presents a contribution, how much to the identification and understanding of the involved mechanisms in the erosive processes, considering the main aspects of the area, such as: localization, climatic conditions and vegetation. An extensive campaign of geotechnical inquiry of field and laboratory was carried including: hydraulic conducty with permeameter Guelph, water content profiles, physical chemical and mineralogical characterization, suction, compressibility, direct conventional shear strength and with controlled suction. The analysis of the erodibility in field was evaluated through installation of plots, for determination of the soil detachment and critical shear stress. The laboratory test was carried by means of Inderbitzen test, canal test, Methodology MCT, Pinhole test, total chemical analysis and of the interstitial water and mineralogical analysis. The joint analysis of the results allowed identifying that the evolution mechanisms act of complex form, due to interaction entering the processes of erosion for raindrop impact, runoff of rain water, falls and mudflows of the bases of the hillsides. Through the some criteria used in literature it was verified that the superficial layers, formed for soil of the Barreiras Formation are more susceptibility to the erosive process, in relation to residual granite soil
