RESUMO

The present work describes the phytochemical study of Pilocarpus sulcatus Skorupa and survey about the secondary metabolites isolated from the taxon Pilocarpus. The work involved the extraction and identification of volatile leaves constituents, stem bark, stem wood, bark root and wood root besides the isolation and determination of the fixed constituents of the leaves and stem wood of P. sulcatus. This is a species with recent botanical description, still without a published phytochemical study. It is restricted located in the south of Bahia and the north of Minas Gerais. It was extracted and identified eighteen volatile constituents of essential oils from different parts of P. sulcatus, with the aliphatic methyl ketones, pentadecan-2-one and tridecan-2-one, present in all five essential oils tested, which, aside from the essential oil of leaves, tridecan-2-one was identified as the major constituent. In this work, six substances were isolated and had its structures determined. From the ethanolic extract of P. sulcatus were isolated the triterpene taraxerol, the furanocumarin isopimpinellin and the steroid β-sitosterol. From the ethanolic extract of the stem wood were isolated the furanocoumarins elisin and amyrin besides the pyranocoumarin xanthyletin. The structural determination of all secondary metabolites isolated in this work involved spectrometric techniques such as: IR e NMR including 2D experiments (COSY, HSQC e HMBC), as well as, comparison with published data. The essential oils extracted were analyzed by GC-MS and the constituents identification occurred by interpretation of their respective mass spectra, in spectra library search and comparison with previously reported data.
