RESUMO

The main objective ofthis work is the analysis ofthe electrical capacitance tomography for imaging of two-phase system, where the components are water and air. The capacitance tomography is consists by a sensor built with eight electrodes around an insulating pipe. An electronic transducer based in alternated current was developed to support excitation frequency up to 1611Hz. The calibration of the electronic transducer was made and compared with the theoretical curves. Numerical and experimental tests were made and the results compared for liquid fractions ranging from 0,1 to 0,95. The image was reconstructed using the linear back projection algoritm. A filtering technique was applied to the algoritm to improve the image quality. A liquid fraction estimative was obtained from the correlation of volumetric liquid fraction and experimental capacitances. The necessary information to the algoritm are the experimental measurements of capacitance, the estimated liquid fraction and sensitivitydistribuition. The results are shown, the limitationsare described and the improvement ofthis technique to the future works are indicated
