RESUMO

The electromyographic activity (EMG) was studied in the rectus abdominis (RA) and in the external oblique (DE) muscles in fifteen young, at aged 19 to 25, 9 woman and 6 mano Ali subjects realized a postural movements group, of the trunk and of the hip, and a expiratory movements group, on differents body positions. Concomitanting to EMG, . during expiratory movements was colleted the maximal expiratory mouth pressure (pEmáx). The result of the EMG was more active in postural movements than in the expiratory. In the postural movements the RA muscle was more active (strong activity) than the DE (moderate activity) and, in the exp~atory movements the DE was more active (weak activity to moderate) than RA (inactive and weak). There was no difference in the EMG activity of theses muscles in differents body positions (supine, sitting and up position), but among the differents expiratory movements. The deep expiration to beginning of the COITent volume (VC) was higher than that beginning at totallung capacity realized fasting (CVTR). The PEmáx was higher in the expiratory movements to beginning at (CPTr) than in the movements that to starting of the CPT and it was higher there on to starting of the YC. There was no significant difference between the body positions. In the ali type of movements and body positions the PEmáx was higher in man than in woman
