Estudo da Oxidação em alta temperatura dos aços inoxidáveis ferríticos AISI 430A e AISI 430E em ar

RESUMO

In this work the study of oxidation kinetic at high temperatures of stainless steel AISI 430A and AISI 430E was made in dry air atmosphere. These steels are ferritics in room temperature, what it differs steel AISI 430A from steel AISI 430E is the presence of the niobium in this last one, which guarantee a completely ferritic structure to the steel 430E in all temperatures. The steel 430A presents phase transition of ferritic→austenitic at temperatures above of 860C. Samples of these steel had been oxidized by 50h and short periods (5 40min). It was verified for long and short times that the oxidation kinetic follows a parabolic law. Steel AISI 430E presented greater resistance to the oxidation. In the experiments carried out for long times, steel AISI 430E presented only one behavior of oxidation in temperatures lower than 1050C while steel AISI 430A presented only one in 850C. In all the surfaces analyzed it was evidenced mainly chromium oxide presence, was also evidenced the presence of espinélio Cr/Mn.
