RESUMO

The use of natural products as medicinal plants is very frequent in popular medicine. The extract of the White Willow (Salix alba) is a vegetable used as analgesic, antiinflammatory and antipyretic. The objective of this work is toevaluate the influence or effect of the extract of the Willow in different concentrations in the labelling of red blood cells (RBC) and plasmatic proteins with 99mTc , as well as study the effects of the White Willow on the kinetic of biodistribuition of 99mTc .RBC marked with 99mTc are being used for several evaluations in nuclear medicine. Initially blood (RBC and plasmatic proteins) was incubated with the extract of the Willow in different concentrations during 1 hour and later in a sequence stannous chloride (SnCl2) was added for 1 hour and 99mTc for 10minutes. Later plasma and RBC were separated with the use of a centrifuge.Aliquots of this sample were also precipitated with TCA (trichloroacetic acid)5% and soluble and insoluble fractions separated. The radioactivity percentages (%ATI) of plasma and RBC samples were determined or calculated, and the results indicated that the extract of the White Willow(Salix alba) reduced the demarcation of RBC and plasmatic proteins with 99mTc. The study in vivo shows us the effect of the extract of white willow(Salix alba) and the biodistribuition of radiopharmaceuticals in female Wistar mouse(n=6) and it was divided in two groups: treated(n=3) and control(n=3).The reaction with 99mTc (3,7MBq) in the presence of stannous chloride and the extract of the white willow(Salix alba) was incubated for one hour and after it was injected and the animals(mice). After one hour the animals(mice) were rapidly sacrificied to take off the organs and were couting by the gama counter. The radioactivity percentage(%ATI) it was calculated in relationship by weight organs. The analysis of the results reveals a significant reduction of the %ATI in kidneys, heart, lungs, liver, spleen, pancreas, muscle, intestines, brain, utero and thyroid and a increase of %ATI in stomach. In conclusion that the extract of white willow can be inhibit passage to stannous choride by the plasmatic membrane or compete with ligation places and forme the species reactives by oxigenio
