RESUMO

The work presents the study of oxidation of hidrogen over Pallladium supported on Alumina. The catalyst was prepared by impregnation of the precursor salt PD CL IND. 2 on Alumina particles sized by extrusion and sintering. The salt decomposing at the surface was done by thermal treatment at the temperature of 400 DEGREES C followed by reduction with hydrogen at 300 DEGREES C. An industrial catalysts of Palladium supported on Alumina was used too. The kinetic data was collected on a bench scale experimental set up involving a fixed bed tubular reactor immersed on an agitated oil bath. The kinetic data measurements covered a temperature range from 80 to 150 DEGREES C, a molar ratio of hydrogen;oxygen of 199, 99, 65.66 with flow rate from 200 to 1200 N ml/min. The kinetic data analysis was made by differential method and the rates of reaction stabilished by spline technique coupled with the maximum likelihood principle and the method of initial rates was applied too. The integral method was employed to determinate the kinetics constants of the reaction rate equation for oxidation of hydrogen. A mechanism of reaction was proposed utilizing Temkin method and the reaction rate was deduced for the catalytic oxidation of hydrogen...
