RESUMO

The search for new therapies to cure the cancer, treatment of the inflammatory process and pain, are still objects of intensive investigations. It is believed that the natural products in general are important sources of biologically active chemicals with therapeutic potential and applicability, which are a source of diversity in structure, physicochemical properties and biological activities. Therefore this study aimed to carry out the study and cytotoxic drug (antitumor activity, antiinflammatory and analgesic) of glycosides isolated from species Herissantia crispa L. Brizicky and Sidastrum paniculatum L. Fryxell (Malvaceae). Plants were collected at the mouth of the Pedra, municipality of Araruma - CP, and these were isolated four substances identified as 3,7-di-O-α-L-raminosideo (diraminosÃdeo), 3- O-β-D-( 6 "-EP-cumaroil) glycoside (tilirosÃdeo) and mixtures of glycosylated and non -sitosterol and stigmasterol. The products were tested forβglycosylated antitumor activity on tumor cells (in vitro) and murine tumors (in vivo). To study in vitro, was used for cell lines NCI-H292 (human lung carcinoma), HEp-2 (squamous cell carcinoma of human larynx) and KB (carcinoma of the pharynx) by the method of MTT. In the evaluation of the cytotoxicity diraminosÃdeo and tilirosÃdeo showed no significant results and the control. In experiments in vivo, the products were tested in animals bearing the sarcoma 180, where the tilirosÃdeo, mixtures glycosylated and non glycosylated showed very promising results. The diraminosÃdeo did not inhibit tumor growth. The tilirosÃdeo and was tested against the Ehrlich carcinoma and also significantly inhibited tumor growth. In the histopathological evaluation of tumors and organs of the control group and treated groups, it was observed that animals treated with tilirosÃdeo had mild renal changes. The testing of air pouch induced by carrageenan and contorÃÃes abdominal induced by acetic acid to tilirosÃdeo, diraminosÃdeo mixture of steroidal glycosides and showed promising analgesic and antiinflammatory activity. The results showed that the products tested have antitumor activity, anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive, justifying the continuation of studies to investigate the mechanism of action
