RESUMO
An analytical investigation of a simplified physical model of a railway vehicle with conventional suspension is presented. One obtains the equations of motion on a curved track and discusses the validity of the model for this case. One shows the uncoupling of the vertical motion, the roll motion and the pitch motion on a straight track. One makes a detailed analysis of the vertical motion following a procedure that gives the dynamical behavior of the system. The degree of stability, the response to an excitation and the response to a harmonic excitation is determined for different design data (damping ratio, stiffness, mass ratio). Interesting conclusions are obtained from the frequency-amplitude diagram. The same procedure is applied to the roll motion.
