RESUMO

This research covers aspects related to educational programs implemented by the State Secretary of Education to promote student visits to cultural institutions. In the first part we will analyze a period in the history of art education that we consider essential in the promotion of knowledge which focused on image reading and, therefore, required student visits to exhibits and expositions. In the second part we will analyze the most significant programs implemented by the State Secretary of Education in the past few years, just like pedagogical materials sent to schools produced by cultural institutions in different periods. In the third part we will analyze records of student visits to three cultural institutions. In the fourth and last part we will make a final analysis focusing on the fragilities and advances that grounded our propositional considerations.
