RESUMO

Commitment to Career and Magellan second Baiocchi (2004) involvement is a subject that has for its work associated with feelings of loyalty, desire to stay and strive to achieve goals related to the development of Career (Career commitment ) and / or on behalf of the organization (organizational commitment). Carson et al. (1995) Professional Career Entrenchment define as the tendency of an individual to remain in their profession because of investments made, the emotional costs associated with change and the perception of few alternatives outside their field. The aim of the research was to compare the levels of Commitment to Career and Vocational Career Entrenchment between public gazetted in early, middle and late Career of an organ of the judiciary has been successfully achieved. As specific objectives: Describe the professional profile among public officials gazetted in early (less than five years), middle (between five and fifteen years) and late Career (more than fifteen years), b) Conduct a validation study of Scale in Career Entrenchment [originally developed by Carson, Carson and Bedeian (1995) and later adapted and validated in Brazil by Gomes and Magalhães (2007)] and the Scale of Commitment to Career [originally developed by Carson and Bedeian (1994) and later adapted and validated in Brazil by Gomes and Magalhães (2007)] to employees of a public agency of the Brazilian federal judiciary were also achieved. In this study, we applied two scales: Career Entrenchment Commitment to Training and Career. The data were processed and analyzed in SPSS - Statistical Package for the Social Sciencesfor Windows, version 18.0. Moreover, for the treatment of the data were analyzed descriptive and inferential statistics. To validate the scales of the sample gazetted officials of an organ of the Brazilian Federal Judiciary was held on Factor Analysis of the data. The sample is mostly female, age is diverse, ranging from nineteen sixty-five years, are married, have fewer dependents, as well described as two dependent mostly high level of education - postgraduate complete, the time stable career (between 1-47 years), experts in public career, as they have the time public service ranging from six months to forty years and duration of organ between one year and twenty-nine years and belonging to the middle class on the basis of pyramid of family income in the country, as has the income range of R $ 7,001.00 and $ 9,000.00.
