RESUMO

This research is a history study in the educational field which has as main objective the analysis of the high school history â named, at that time, as secondary school â during the ages 1918 to 1930. The choice of this period was due to its importance to the Brazilian History and, particularly, to the Education History. It is the moment that follows the First World War, the main point which was responsible for political and economical reorganization to many political centers of the planet, many social institutions, among them, the school. It was the period in which new paradigms and objectives linked to nationalism, hygienism, eugenics, New School and some tendencies of ideas such as socialism, anarchism, Catholicism, among others were introduced. The analysis had its start in the educational policies introduced by federal and state government based in the intention of assuring the offering and improvement of this education. This is a qualitative study in which the documental research was used as a main way of sources collecting and organization. The data analysis brings results related to the cultural transplantation practice of the secondary school, curriculum, teachers and important aspects from the environment of the only secondary school of this period in the local scenery: the Liceu of CearÃ.
