RESUMO
A didactic experience has been proposed in the treatment of thin layers as part of the optics course of the Degree in Physics. It is oriented for increasing students role in the process of teaching-learning. Linear algebra, computation and optics contents are reintroduced through the matrix method for analysing and studying light reflection on multilayers, a model of the widely employed physical system like solar cells. It is concluded that by integrating the knowledge acquired, computing techniques and their application to a previously unknown study subject, could result in increased motivation due to group debate and participation of students for solving the problem.
