RESUMO

Requirements elicitation (RE), in the Software Engineering context, is the process in which an analyst interacts with customers for detailing the scope and limits of the software being developed. Usually, it is carried out by means of interviews. This work addresses RE from a new perspective: the use of meta-evaluation, according to the standards proposed by the Joint Committee, as a source of information. In order to validate this method, the elicitation of requirements for improving the evaluation systems of Reference Centers for Social Assistance (CRAS), in 2008, was performed. These Centers are held by the Brazilian Ministry of Social Development and Fight Against Hunger (MDS). This case was chosen due to its significant demand for computerized procedures. The results are detailed as a list of requirements that suggests a promising way for methods based in the critical analysis of the domain application processes. In further studies, after its application in a new set of systems, the method formulated in this research may have their positive perspective measured.
