RESUMO

The purpose of this study is to comprehend how the elements of the organizational environment influence the learning of the individuals. The investigation, of qualitative nature, had as subjects, twelve individuals that act in the financial area and participate or participated of the trainee program known as FMP (Finance Management Program) of the General Electric Company of Brazil. The data collection was performed by semi-structured interviews and procedures of content analysis were used in the analytical process. The main results of the study indicate that the managing policies of people turned to the non-stopping development of the individuals with emphasis on the self-development influence the learning process of the subjects. Besides this, a culture that incentives the improvement issue and the leader formation turned to learning, allied to an organizational structure that gives opportunity to communication and to team work may contribute to ease the learning process of individuals in the organizations. The results also suggest a double importance of the time dimension role, as critical and easing element, in the phenomenon studied.
