RESUMO

This research addresses actions taken during a period of involvement with creation in itself and its implications, deriving from poetic constructions experienced during the Masters Course in Visual Arts, and aimed at a refl ection on some of the demands of the creative process. During this period, I sought a poetic dialogue in experimenting hybrid visual languages (photography and video), from the capture of urban landscape images in the cities of Salvador (Brazil) and Luanda (Angola). The description of procedures, throughout the period, considered the concepts of image, time, movement, multiplicity, urbanism, photography and video. The methodology adopted is grounded on poietics, i.e., the science and philosophy of creation that addresses the entire creative process. Among other refl ections, I observed the problems involving contemporary urban images and landscapes, relating them to the cities referred to, discussing concepts such as aspects of identity, hybridism, transitoriness and contamination. The exhibition that resulted from the research showed a series of photographs and two installation-videos, which favored a study on specifi c issues related to the perception and occupation of the tridimensional space. The study on the video and digital image prompts refl ections on the immateriality of the image, changes in perception, (de)referentialization of the image, (de)territorialization of signs, and linkage of art and science, comprising an audio-visual system capable of generating senses and articulating other meanings to become a contemporary means of expression.
