RESUMO

Aim: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the RPG method in the treatment of stress urinary incontinence in older women. The 13 women were subjected to assessments by urodinâmica by the Urodinâmico Study, the pelvic floor, by Perina and for vaginal cones, quality of life questionnaire by the ICIQ-SF, and the evaluation of body posture, through flexible ruler, examining the backbone curvature of the voluntary and the position of the pelvis. After the initial ratings 12 sessions of Global Posture Re-education (RPG) were made, using the autopostura "frog on the ground, repeating at the end of treatment the initial assessments." Results: After the intervention of the loss was decreased urinary gain of the pelvic floor muscle strength and improves the quality of life of the voluntary. The statistical analyses were performed by testing Student-T, Wilcoxon and Kappa, which showed statistically significant results for the assessment with vaginal cones (p = 0005), Biofeedback, (p = 0011) for low intensity and (p = 0001) to mean intensity and evaluation with the ICIQ-SF (p = 0001), and not statistically significant results for the Urodinâmico Study (p = 0.06) and the Index of Cifose (p = 0.07). It was also observed after treatment an improvement in static pelvis encouraging urinary continence. Conclusion: It was concluded from this study that the RPG improved stress urinary incontinence, and consequently the quality of life of women who participated in this study, but it needs further studies to prove the effectiveness of the RPG in the treatment of urinary incontinence of effort.
