RESUMO
The aim of the present investigation was to evaluate histologically tissue repair on dorsal cutaneous wounds in a rodent model treated with Laser and/or LED, using diode Laser GaAlAs λ660nm and λ790nm and LEDs of three wavelengths. Forty-four young adult male Wistar rats were used, weighting between 200 and 250 grams. After, one excisional wound was created on the dorsum of each animal and they were then randomly distributed into eleven groups with four animals each: G0- Control; G1- Laser λ660nm, 10J/cm2; G2- Laser λ790nm, 10J/cm2; G3- Red LED ~λ700nm, 15mW, 10J/cm2; G4- Laser λ660nm + Red LED ~λ700nm, 10J/cm2; G5- Red LED ~λ700nm, 16mW, 10J/cm2; G6- Laser λ790nm + Red LED ~λ700nm, 10J/cm2; G7- Green LED ~λ530nm, 10J/cm2; G7- Laser λ790nm + Green LED ~λ530nm, 10J/cm2; G8 - Blue LED ~λ460nm, 10J/cm2; G10- Laser λ790nm + Blue LED ~λ460nm, 10J/cm2. The irradiation started immediately after surgery and was repeated at every other day during seven days. The animal death occurred eight days after surgery. The specimens were removed, routinely processed to wax, cut and stained with HE and Sirius red and the slides were analyzed through optic microscopy. The results showed that laser λ790nm, Red LED (~λ700nm)(15mW) and combinations Red LED with laser λ790nm and Green LED with laser λ790nm increased significantly fibroblast proliferation and collagen deposition. The group Green LED (~λ530nm) with laser λ790nm showed the most significant collagen deposition. The red radiations LED (15 and 16mW) and laser λ660nm had exerted the most expressive effect on fibroblast proliferation and angiogenesis. Considering the protocol of this study, the use of laser and/or LED radiations improves fibroblast proliferation, granulation tissue, collagen deposition and angiogenesis.
