RESUMO
We examined the effects of pH and incubation in a CO2-containing atmosphere on the activity of erythromycin against 81 strains of the Bacteroides fragilis group. A striking reduction in erythromycin activity was noted when the pH decreased below 7.0 and when the organisms were incubated with CO2.
