RESUMO

Stimulating agents of orthodontic movements have been studied to decrease the treatment time and to reduce the tissues damage. This research represents a histologic analysis of the pulpar, periodontal and bone tissues, and a macroscopic analysis after an induced dental movement on the upper molars of rats, radiated or not with low-level laser. For the laser therapy it was used a laser diode, calibrated wavelength at 808 nm, output power at 100 mW, energy at 54 J and area of 0,0028cm2. The application was continuous, punctual and contact. 42 Wistar female rats were used, they were approximately 70 days old, weighing between 150g to 200g. It was moved the first upper left molar, through nickel-titanium 7mm closed-coil spring, with 25 g +/- 2 g of force applied. Laser were applicated 1, 3 or 7 times in each animal during the experimental period, with 48h of intervals. The animals were sacrificed at 7o and 14o days. After this the upper left hemiarcade was processed into samples for a histologic examination, those at thickness of 4 m and counterstained with HE. The obtained results revealed that the low-level laser influences in the induced dental movement through the osteoclastic activity increase and the high tax of periodontal ligament cells proliferation. Occured increase of root reabsortion. It was observed that the reabsorption process was higher than the bone deposition which caused a damage on the alveolar remodeling of the groups radiated with higher frequency.
