RESUMO

Low level laser therapy (LLLT) is a therapeutic strategy in which its effects are still in a continuous process of evolution. The aim of the present study was to identify the effects of LLLT Ga-Al-In-P 660nm on the dynamics of a granulomatous inflammatory process in male swiss albinic mice. The migration pattern of inflammatory cells in glass coverslips inserted into their dorsal region in the hypodermis, at different times of application was analyzed morphologically. The analysis included 40 male adults mice split into two different groups: Test (T), treated with laser therapy, and Control (C), without any intervention. Both groups were divided into 5 sub-groups with four individuals in each, according to the time they had been sacrificed. 24 hours after the implant of the glass coverslips, the treatment in the T group started, consisting of one daily irradiation with three J/cm2 of intensity and 30mW of power with the punctual technique. The morphological analysis was based in an evaluation of cell components, identifying and characterizing the presence of polymorphonucleated leucocytes, macrophage/ fibroblast, lymphocytes and multinucleated giant cells. The polymorphonucleated leucocytes sustained the same pattern in both groups, same results were observed in macrophage/fibroblast and multinucleated giant cells. The laser therapy did not show any significant difference in the dynamic of the granulomatous inflammatory process. New researches needed to identify the possible effects of LLLT the migration dynamics of inflammatory cells.
