EDUCAÇÃO SEXUAL: UMA ANÁLISE DA CONCEPÇÃO DOS PROFESSORES DE DUAS ESCOLAS ESTADUAIS DO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL DE CURITIBA

RESUMO

This paper considers education and its pedagogical practices as a matter for reflexion and chooses sexual education to be the theme. The research is focused on the conception presented by teachers who work in two Curitibas Public elementary schools. The study aimed to contextualize sexuality considering the free perspective in search of support for a free and political education which approaches sexuality in the biopsychosocial view inside a cultural context in which behavior rules, beliefs and moral values have been defining the life experience, conceiving sexuality as a political factor relevant to the formation of the human beings subjectivity with a centered purpose in the individuals growth. The field research took place in two public schools whose thirty first-and-second-cycle teachers in different subjects were interviewed. It was applied the qualitative research methodology. It was used a questionnaire, consisting of 11 questions, which was answered by the teachers in the corresponding school. The questionnaire data analysis revealed the teachers conception about sexual education in schools. The analysis demonstrates that most teachers, in order to work with the sexuality issue in school, keep a restrict view coherent with the medical-sanitary conception of sexuality. The difficulties, taboos, prejudice, embarrassment and misleading information establish barriers to the issues approach. Taking this into consideration, the study suggests a reflexion concerning the specific qualification of the teachers interested in working as sexuality educators, enabling a rethink about sexual education.
