RESUMO

The objective of this work was to study the castes division of labor in Mischocyttarus consimilis. For elaboration of the behavioral repertoire the observations were accomplished in 21 colonies in natural conditions with 20 hours of qualitative observations and 80 hours of quantitative observations. Thirty behavior acts were identified, of which 23 were executed by queens and 29 by workers and 22 in common. Just the act of to initiation new cells was exclusive of the queen, while the workers presented seven exclusive acts. Through the hybrid multidimensional scaling could be verified that the behaviors of to dominate physically and to request food characterized the queen caste; while the behaviors of: trofalaxis adult-adult, to destroy cells, give alarm, forage prey, forage nectar and failure forager characterized the worker caste. The queen spends more time in the nest executing domination activities, while the workers execute of the related tasks to the maintenance of the colonies
