Diversidade e distribuiÃÃo espacial e temporal da Anurofauna (Amphibia, Anura) em fragmento de Mata AtlÃntica de Igarassu, Pernambuco

This study aimed to inventory the species of amphibian anuran, to estimate its diversity, richness and abundance, analyze the spatial and temporal distribution of the species and verify if there is a correlation between the abiotic parameters (temperature, rainfall and humidity of the air) and its richness and abundance in an fragment of the Atlantic Forest of Igarassu, Pernambuco State. The sampling was monthly between january and december of 2007, with three days duration. Seven habitats with different structural and physiognomic characteristics were monitored, located in the interior and the edge of the forest, as well as in open areas. The methods were the active seeking and traps of interception and fall. We registered 36 species and 2.480 individuals distributed in eight families. The diversity was considered high, being larger in the border of the forest. Greater similarity in the composition of species was found among the habitats in the edge of the forest and in the open area. More species in activity of vocalization were registered between february and june, warmer and rainier period. In some areas, there was a correlation between the richness and abundance, and the temperature and rainfall. Most species were generalist, occupying more than one kind of environment, but demonstrating greater affinity with the microenvironment, being the margins of the bodies of water, the fallen leaves and the shrub and herbaceous vegetation the most used. The study registered new occurrences of species in the State of Pernambuco, such as Dendropsophus haddadi, Physalaemus kroyeri and Ischnocnema vinhai, demonstrating the importance of the conservation of the area
