RESUMO

Introduction: Infant Mortality Rate in Fortaleza, despite the decline, is the unequal distribution in the spaces that make up the Regional Executive Secretariats (SER) and its components, neonatal, post neonatal and Causes, which pointed out the need for better understanding of that event. This study aims to evaluate the spatial distribution of infant mortality by the Executive Secretaries of the Regional Municipality of Fortaleza, in the triennium 2006 to 2008. Methodology: A crosssectional, descriptive, based on data collected from the SIM and SINASC the Municipal Health Department of Fortaleza. Enrolled 116.128 live births and infant deaths 1.842 in Fortaleza, in the period 2006-2008. Were calculated for infant mortality, early neonatal, neonatal, late neonatal, post-neonatal mortality and main causes according Being of Fortaleza, for the period 2006-2008 and for each year of the period. To study the spatial distribution was used for thematic maps SER, Built By ArcView 3.3, then became frequency analysis and average. Results: In the period 2006-2008, the WCC in Fortaleza followed a national trend of decline, ranging from - 12.8% rate, from 17.26 in 2006 to 15.05% 0 NV in 2008. Deaths among children under the taxpayer as had one year as the leading neonatal deaths, and which to account for a high percentage (67%) of infant deaths is further reduced slowly, ranging from -9.8% in the CMN, in comparison with post-neonatal deaths, of which varied from -18.5% in cmpn. There was a reduction of CMNP and 7.8% of CMNT of 16.9%. SER VI He paused as lower Infant Mortality Rates in Fortaleza in 2006 with record of 13.72% at 0 and NV 2008 from 12.42% 0 NV. The neonatal component of infant mortality had lower mean in SER VI (6.64% NV 0) and higher in SER I (10.79% NV 0) and BE IV (10.45% 0 NV). The record of early neonatal deaths was the SER II, with an average record of 8.24 in CMNP NV 0% increase and 8.36% 0 NV in 2006 to 9.04% 0 NV in 2008. In the post-neonatal mortality was increased in BE I and BE II and reduction of regional not rest. The main cause of infant mortality in Fortaleza were perinatal conditions (8.84% NV 0), accounting for 55.8% of deaths in children under one year, followed by congenital malformations (18.46%), as Infectious and Parasitic Diseases (7.87%) and respiratory diseases (5.59%). Conclusion: The regional results have identified where an infant mortality, its components and causes are more evident. Records found meet the annual target of 5% reduction in infant mortality, without Established Municipal Health Plan 2006-2009 in Fortaleza, in the first period (2006-2007). The stratification of the components of infant mortality to be revealed a need for more effective interventions in the entire chain of care Epidemiological Suerveillance.
